PRIVACY POLICY ON DATA USAGE

We are serious about protecting your privacy

The protection of your privacy when processing personal data is important to us. When you visit our website, our web servers automatically store the IP address assigned to you by your internet service provider, the website you are visiting from, the websites you are accessing, as well as the date and duration of your visit. This information is essential for the technical transmission of the website and the secure operation of the server. A personalised evaluation of this data does not take place.

If you send us data using the contact form, this data will be saved on our servers as part of our data backup. Your data will only be used by us to process your request. Your data will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. It will not be disclosed to third parties.

Personal data

Personal data is data about your person. This includes your name, address and email address. You do not have to disclose any personal data in order to visit our website. In some cases we need your name and address as well as further information in order to be able to provide you with the service you have requested.

The same applies in the event that we supply you with information on request or when we answer your inquiries. In such cases we will always point this out to you. In addition, we only store data that you have transmitted to us automatically or voluntarily.

When you use one of our services, we usually only collect the data that is necessary to be able to offer you the service. We may ask you for further information, but this is of a voluntary nature. Whenever we process personal data, we do this in order to be able to offer you our service or to pursue our commercial goals.

Contact

When someone contacts us (e.g. via the contact form, email, telephone or social media), this person’s details are processed, insofar as this is necessary to answer the enquiry and any measures the enquirer has requested.

The answering of enquiries in the context of contractual or pre-contractual relationships is carried out in order to fulfil our contractual obligations or to answer (pre) contractual enquiries, and otherwise on the basis of our legitimate interests in answering enquiries.

• Types of data processed: Inventory data (e.g. names, addresses), contact data (e.g. email, telephone numbers), content data (e.g. information entered in online forms).
• Data subjects: Communication partners.
• Purposes of processing: Contact, enquiries and communication.
• Legal bases: Fulfilment of the contract and pre-contractual inquiries (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b. GDPR), legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f. GDPR).

Customer account

For every customer who registers accordingly, we set up password-protected direct access to their inventory data stored with us (customer account). Here you can view your completed, open and recently sent orders, and manage your address details, bank details and newsletter subscription. You agree to keep your personal login data confidential and not to make it accessible to unauthorised third parties. We cannot accept any liability for improperly used passwords, unless we are responsible for the misuse.
By offering the “stay logged in” feature, we aim to make your visit to our website as pleasant as possible. This feature enables you to use our services without having to log in every time you visit. However, for security reasons you will be asked to re-enter your password if, for example, you want to edit your personal details or place an order. We recommend that you do not use this feature if the computer is shared by multiple users. We would like to point out that the "stay logged in" feature is not available if you use a setting that automatically deletes stored cookies after each session.

Collection, processing and use of your personal data

Data protection is very important to us. We therefore strictly observe the statutory provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz) and the Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz) when collecting, processing and using your personal data. We collect, store and process your data for the entire processing of your purchase (including any subsequent warranties), and for our services, technical administration and our own marketing purposes. Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties or otherwise transmitted if this is necessary for the purpose of contract processing or billing or if you have given your prior consent. As part of the order processing, for example, the service providers we use here (such as transporters, logisticians, banks) receive the necessary data for order processing. The data passed on in this way may only be used by our service providers to fulfil their obligations. Any other use of the information is not permitted and is not carried out by any of the service providers entrusted by us.

We need your correct name, address and payment details for your order. We need your email address so that we can confirm receipt of your order and communicate with you. We also use this for your identification (customer login). You will also receive your order and shipping confirmation via your email address.

Your personal data will be deleted unless there are statutory retention requirements and if you have asserted a claim for deletion, if the data is no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which it was stored or if its storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons.

Automatically stored data

Server log files
The website provider automatically collects and stores information in what are known as server log files, which your browser automatically sends to us. This data includes:

  • The date and time of the request
  • The name of the requested file
  • The page from which the file was accessed
  • The query status (file transferred, file not found, etc.)
  • The web browser and operating system used
  • The complete IP address of the computer making the request
  • The amount of data transferred

This data will not be combined with data from other sources. This processing is based on our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our website pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

This data is stored for technical security reasons, in particular to defend against hacking attempts on our web server. It is not possible for us to draw conclusions about individual persons on the basis of this data. After seven days at the latest, the data is anonymised by shortening the IP address at domain level, so that it is no longer possible to establish a reference to the individual user. The data is also processed anonymously for statistical purposes; it is not compared with other databases or transferred to third parties, even in excerpts. The number of page views is exclusively displayed in the context of our server statistics, which we publish every two years in our activity report.

Cookies

Accepting cookies is not a prerequisite for visiting our website. However, we would like to point out that you can only use the shopping cart feature and place orders if you allow us to set cookies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small files that are stored on your device and that save certain settings and data for exchange with our system via your browser. There are basically 2 different types of cookies, so-called session cookies, which are deleted as soon as you close your browser, and temporary/permanent cookies, which are stored on your device for a longer period of time or indefinitely. This storage helps us to design our website and offers accordingly and makes it easier for you to use them, for example by saving certain entries that you make so that you do not have to repeat them constantly.

Which cookies does Trendhaus Handelsgesellschaft mbH use?

Most of the cookies we use are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of the browser session (end of the session) (hence session cookies). Session cookies are required, for example, to offer you the shopping cart feature across multiple pages. We also use cookies that remain on your hard drive. When you visit us again, we can thus automatically recognise that you have already visited us and apply your preferred entries and settings. These temporary or permanent cookies (lifespan 1 month to 10 years) are stored on your hard drive and are deleted automatically after the specified time. In particular, these cookies are used to make our offer more user-friendly, more effective and more secure. Thanks to these files, it is possible, for example, to display information on the site that is specifically tailored to your interests. The sole purpose of these cookies is to adapt our offer to your customer requirements to the best of our abilities and to make surfing with us as convenient as possible.

What data is stored in the cookies?

No personal data is stored in the cookies used by Trendhaus Handelsgesellschaft mbH. The cookies we use therefore cannot be assigned to a specific person, and thus to you. When the cookie is activated, it is assigned an identification number. Your personal data cannot and will not be assigned to this identification number at any time. Your name, IP address or similar data that would allow the cookie to be assigned to you will not be placed in the cookie. Based on cookie technology, we only receive pseudonymised information, for example about which pages of our shop were visited, which products were viewed, etc.
When you visit our website, we may save information on your computer in the form of cookies. Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID. A cookie ID is a unique identifier of the cookie. It consists of a string of characters through which websites and servers can be assigned to the specific internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This allows internet sites and servers that have been visited to distinguish the individual's browser of the data subject from other internet browsers that contain other cookies. A particular internet browser can be recognised and identified by the unique cookie ID.

By using session cookies, the data controller is able provide the users of this website with a user-friendly service that would not be possible without the setting of cookies. Without consent, we only use cookies that are technically necessary for the system on the legal basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.

AWStats

In order to be able to evaluate our website statistically, we use the programme AWStats. This programme is free web analysis software. It is used to evaluate log files that web servers create on the basis of visitor inquiries. The programme does not use cookie files for the evaluation. The statistical analysis takes place via the log files, which also contain IP addresses. As a rule, this data cannot be assigned to specific individuals. This data will not be combined with any other data sources, and will be deleted after statistical evaluation.

Unlike other statistical programs, AWStats does not transmit data to a third party server. The programme is installed on AWStats’ own hosting package. This also avoids the transfer of data abroad, for example, as our server is located in Germany.

Newsletter

We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to send our newsletter, which means that we will only send you a newsletter by email if you have expressly confirmed to us beforehand that we should activate the newsletter service. We will then send you a notification email, asking you to confirm that you would like to receive our newsletter by clicking on a link contained in the email. When you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your IP address and the date that you subscribed. This storage serves solely as evidence in the event that a third party misuses your email address in order to subscribe you to the newsletter without your knowledge or authorisation.

If you no longer wish to receive newsletters from us, you can object to this at any time without incurring any costs other than the transmission costs pursuant to the basic tariffs. A message in text form (e.g. email, fax, letter) sent to us or our data protection officer is sufficient for this. Of course you will also find an unsubscribe link in each edition of the newsletter.

Security

We have taken technical and administrative security precautions to protect your personal data against loss, destruction, manipulation and unauthorised access. All of our employees and any service providers who work for us are obliged to comply with the applicable data protection legislation.

Whenever we collect and process personal data, it is encrypted before it is transmitted. This means that your data cannot be misused by third parties. Our security precautions are subject to a continual improvement process and our privacy policies are constantly being revised. Please make sure you have the latest version.

Changes to this privacy policy

We reserve the right to change our privacy policies if this should be necessary due to new technologies. Please make sure you have the latest version. If any fundamental changes are made to this privacy policy, we will declare this on our website.
